Certificate Maker

Certificate Maker is a free tool for making printable certificates of achievement, completion, appreciation and participation. Pick one of six templates, add signers, signature images and a logo, and make one certificate or paste a list of names or a CSV to make one for everyone. Long names shrink to fit. Download a single multi-page PDF or a ZIP of PNGs named after each person. It runs in your browser, so your names and images are never uploaded.

How to Make Certificates

Step by step

  1. Pick a template and a title, like Certificate of Achievement or Certificate of Completion.
  2. Enter the name, or choose "A list of names" and paste your class list or a spreadsheet.
  3. Fill in the description, date and signers, and add signature images and a logo if you have them.
  4. Check the preview, using Prev and Next to page through the list.
  5. Download one PDF with a page per person, or a ZIP of PNG files named after each person, and print on Letter or A4 paper.

Is this certificate maker free?

Yes. It's free with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit, including bulk certificates for a whole list. The certificates are drawn in your browser, and your names, logo and signatures are never uploaded. See our Privacy Policy.

How do I make certificates for a list of names?

Choose A list of names and paste one name per line. You can also copy rows from Excel or Google Sheets, for example Name, Award and Date. Pick which column holds the name and, if you like, which columns fill in the description, date or title for each person. Everything else, like the signers and logo, is the same on every certificate.

What if a name is very long?

Long names are made smaller automatically so they fit on one line without running into the border. The same goes for the title and the other lines. Page through the preview to check every certificate before you print.

How do I add a signature?

Upload a picture of the signature for each signer. A PNG with a transparent background looks best; you can draw or type one with our Signature Generator. A photo of a signature on white paper also works on the light templates. Leave the image empty to get a blank line to sign by hand.

What paper should I print on?

The certificates are landscape Letter (11 x 8.5 inches) or A4. Plain white paper works, and heavier cardstock or parchment paper looks more official. In the print dialog, choose "Actual size" or 100% so nothing is cut off.

Which fonts are used?

The templates use Cinzel, Lora, Montserrat and Great Vibes, open-source fonts served from this site. See the font licenses.
